About the project: the XX is a British indie-pop band formed in 2005 in London. The self-titled album the XX became the debut, received high marks from music critics and was nominated for the Mercury Prize, which it eventually received on September 7, 2010.
The redesign concept was based on the similarity of design and music. And there, and there, there is rhythm, rhyme and texture. Since the structure of the compositions consists of simple rhythmic patterns and musical textures, simple graphics were incorporated into the design. The rhythmic pattern on the cover of the disc is not accidental: it repeats the pattern of one of the album's compositions — Shelter.
The graphic move is also revealed in typography: rhythmic shifts and division of text into blocks are used.
О проекте: the XX — британская инди-поп-группа, образовавшаяся в 2005 году в Лондоне. Одноименный альбом the XX стал дебютным, получил высокие оценки музыкальных критиков и был номинирован на Mercury Prize, которую в итоге и получил 7 сентября 2010 года.
В основу концепта редизайна легла схожесть дизайна и музыки. И там, и там, есть ритм, рифма и текстуры. Так как структура композиций состоит из простых ритмических рисунков и музыкальных текстур, в дизайн была внедрена простая графика. Ритмический рисунок на обложке пластинки не случаен: он повторяет рисунок одной из композиций альбома — Shelter.
Графический ход раскрывается и в типографике: используются ритмичные сдвижки и деление текста на блоки.
